Bike Rentals & Tours
Bike Rentals: The Best Way To See San Francisco
Experience San Francisco the way we do, by bicycle. You'll travel slow enough to catch each mural or stop for an unexpected café, yet fast enough to see the bay in the East, the ocean in the West, and the city between. San Francisco is a bike-sized city. Go ahead, see for yourself.
Single Speed - One gear, zero complications. Single speeds are light, nimble, and fast, and we're the only place in the city you can rent one. All single speeds are available either freewheel or fixed gear and all feature a front brake.
3-Speed / 8-Speed - Our internally geared bikes are easy to operate (one shifter, not two) and offer expanded versatility to cover any SF street. Front and rear brake included.
What's Included - A helmet, lights, lock, and messenger bag. The rental is yours until 6:30pm on the last day of your reservation.

Rentals are also available on a walk-in basis as inventory permits. Visit us at 766 Valencia Street from 11am-6pm. Book in advance to guarantee your bike.

Mission District Secrets Tour
We live here, work here, and ride here. The Mission is our home. It's also the most colorful and alluring neighborhood in the city, overflowing with obvious opportunities and hidden moments. Join us and we'll show you both, as only a local can.
The Mission Secrets Tour starts behind-the-scenes in our build workshop before meandering through mural covered alleys, a secret bookstore, and San Francisco's most vibrant park. We'll visit some of the Mission's quirkiest and most respected institutions, and stop for lunch at a 98-year old diner.
All tours depart from 766 Valencia at 11:00am. Lunch included, excellent veg/vegan options available.

1906 Earthquake Tour
At 5:12 AM on April 18, 1906 a violent and now infamous earthquake rocked the San Francisco Bay Area. The shaking and fire that followed left three quarters of the city homeless and forever altered California's procession into the 20th Century. To this day scars, remnants, and reminders are plentiful throughout the city, if you know where to look. Thankfully we do, and we'll show you.
We'll ride through stories of the 1906 earthquake and fire, the aftermath for the residents who remained, and the physical impacts still present today. Using landmarks and historical photographs you'll see the "gateway to the Pacific" then and now, and even hear the 42-second quake reimagined in theater sound.
All tours depart from 766 Valencia at 11:00am. Lunch included, excellent veg/vegan options available.

Welcome to San Francisco Tour
Welcome to San Francisco. You made it. The 7x7 is waiting, and if you're hungry to learn and live your city by bike, this tour is for you.
This Welcome Tour has been designed to give new residents the tools they need to become expert San Francisco commuters. We'll cover essentials like the Wiggle crosstown route, popular lane connections, route planning to avoid hills, and where you should or shouldn't lock up. We'll explore when to follow the spirit, rather than the letter of the law, and show you how to connect with bike community events.
The Welcome to SF tour begins with a 1-hour discussion, followed by a 2-hour group ride. The tour price includes a $35 membership to the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC). The 10,000 member SFBC has been advocating for cyclists for over 40 years. Joining is an essential part of becoming a local.
Please note: The tour price does NOT include a rental bike. Click here if you need to add one. All tours depart from 766 Valencia at 1:00pm.

Above our Valencia Street retail space, up one flight of switchback stairs, is the workshop where every Mission Bicycle is built. It has high ceilings, old wood floors, odd-looking tools, and smells faintly of coffee and rubber. It's welcoming and we want you to see it.
Join us for a free 30-minute tour any Tuesday at 6:00pm.
